Hi there,
Remembering that 10.4.3 fixed this problem, I diff'ed its X11 with
10.4.2's and noticed that they added a new function that gets called
every time X11 is brought to the front. I then spent a little time
trying to fit it into the new source. Not knowing anything about X
or Quartz programming, I'm sure pretty much everything about it is
wrong, but it does seem to work (at least for me). :-)
Hope this is helpful to somebody.
This is exactly the kind of thing I'm hoping to see. I spent the
first 4 months doing just this -- comparing versions of X11, trying to
figure out what functions moved, what functions changed names, what
patches were needed and which weren't, etc. It's tedious work, and
not necessarily horribly technical -- and certainly not glamorous.
Excellent detective work, and thanks for being brave and submitting
the first patch!

I'll try to roll a new source / binary this weekend, after I make some
other misc changes -- right now, there'd be no difference between what
I put up and the binary you posted.
