Just for fun, here are the top twenty bug reports we've received about X11:

#reports Radar # regression? fix id'd? title

3 5564366 n/a no Clicking on X11 window takes me to wrong Space
2 5517966 n/a no Spaces does not take me to correct desktop when I click on X11 icon
2 5564271 n/a no Cannot drag X11 windows to other spaces (via edge of screen)

Oh dear, there must be more people who have X11-Spaces problems!

Yeah, I missed another big one:
2 reports: <rdar://problem/5517854> Spaces: pointer offset is wrong after dragging X windows between spaces

So, here's a good example of a point I'm going to expand upon in another thread -- I talked to the Spaces guys, and they graciously agreed to set up a meeting so we could try to figure these issues out. The problem is, I don't yet understand the problem well enough to have anything to ask them.

I'm specifically referring to that last bug, where the pointer offset is wrong. If someone were looking for a way to help me fix this without even writing any code, it would be to try to dig through our code and figure out where it might be calculating this offset -- I'd then be able to say "this number we're getting from Quartz is wrong, what is a better way to ask for this number"?

I wouldn't have any time to dig through the server code, but I can point out that a window's X geometry does not change when it is moved from within Spaces. If you move an xev window from Spaces, you don't see any events (no ConfigureNotify events, in particular).
