About installing X11

  • Subject: About installing X11

So I was running Tiger's X11 on Leopard. That was running fine but after a reinstall of the OS (still Leopard) I decided to run Leopard's  X11. I dont run any important apps so. It keeps me on the same page as everybody too. I'm a little confused though. I downloaded Xquartz-1.2a10.bz2 and installed as the following:
bunzip2 Xquartz-1.2a10.bz2
sudo mv /usr/X11/bin/Xquartz /usr/X11/bin/Xquartz.old
sudo mv Xquartz-1.2a6 /usr/X11/bin/Xquartz
sudo chown root /usr/X11/bin/Xquartz
sudo chmod 755 /usr/X11/bin/Xquartz

I noticed I can't get rootless.
Do I still need to compile xorg-server-1.2a10.tar.bz2 in order to get that?
Does xorg-server-1.2a10.tar.bz2 replace everything that is in /usr/X11 now?

Thanks for you pacient in advance.
