Xterm not reading dotfiles

Hi, apparently it reads .bashrc because my aliases are there it is just not reading .bash_profile. .Xresources is being ignored too, but only the first xterm, any other xterm i open is black and sports the font I set for it in my .Xresources. Is it not starting as a login shell?
