It's in my man pages:
If invoked with the -C option, syslog fetches and prints console
messages. The -C option is actually an alias for the expression:
-k Facility com.apple.console

This doesn't seem to be mentioned in the man anywhere. There is a
small case 'c' switch, but no upper case switch mentioned. How did you

Ah, I see that if I type 'syslog -help' I get different guidance than
what is in the man ...
