1. Native Mac OS X apps do not use X11. Totally separate window
systems, not infrequently at odds with each other, as we see from the
discussion on this list about problems with the X11 stuff.
2. There is an X11 version of VNC server, which, as someone mentioned,
starts its own X server independent of the console display. It is of
no real use or interest on a Mac.
3. The mac does, however, support exporting its native display, and
you can use any vnc client to connect to it. There are multiple vnc
clients available on solaris (realvnc, tightvnc...) and you should be
able to find one you like.
4. The mac also supports Apple Remote Desktop, but I don't know of any
non-mac client for this. AFAIK is not the same as the Windows Remote
Desktop protocol, which does have clients for other platforms.
