OMG, I was wondering why it *sometimes* worked. autogen.sh added this and I didn't bother to do it myself when I did ./configure. Peter, you're my hero.

You should just be able to run "make" as it should recognise that Makefile.am has been modified and run the appropriate commands to regenerate the Makefile

I'm pretty sure that you need to have done ./configure --enable-maintainer-mode for that to work.
