Two things to keep in mind:
1) If you make a selection in X11-land, then PRIMARY SELECTION seems
to replace what you copied into the clipboard in Aqua-land.
2) Paste per se does not work in X11.app. You have to middle-click
to paste what you copied from Aqua.
Other than that, copy/paste always works fine for me. Others have
said it does not always work for them.
