I still haven't heard back from many of you with respect to this
issue and 2.3.1_beta1. Please give it a try and report the
debugging information that is spewed out to the system log.
Leopard .4, MBP with GB keyboard.
But what keyboard layout are you using? Did you install a 3rd party
layout, or is this 100% from Apple? If so, I need to know what
keyboard layout it is because the log below indicates a bug in the
keyboard layout here:
13/08/2008 10:33:31 [0x0-0x2d02d].org.x.X11[294] X11.app: Error
detected in determining keyboard layout. Please report this error
at http://xquartz.macosforge.org
13/08/2008 10:33:31 [0x0-0x2d02d].org.x.X11[294] X11.app: Debug
Info: currentKeyLayoutRef=0x0, chr_data=0x0
13/08/2008 10:33:31 [0x0-0x2d02d].org.x.X11[294] X11.app: Fallback
succeeded, but this is still a bug. Please report the above
information.
The other issue you are seeing below that is a bug in 2.3.1_beta1 with
some things I was working on. This "initial client does not connect"
bug which is fixed in git and in 1.4.2-apple7 (http://static.macosforge.org/xquartz/downloads/X11-1.4.2-apple7.bz2
). You can download that file, decompress it, and replace /A/U/
X11.app/Contents/MacOS/X11 with it (or you can just turn off
connection authentication for now):
curl -O -L http://static.macosforge.org/xquartz/downloads/X11-1.4.2-apple7.bz2
bunzip2 X11-1.4.2-apple7.bz2
sudo mv X11-1.4.2-apple7 /Applications/Utilities/X11.app/Contents/
MacOS/X11
