That's the one thing I didn't try. I just tried urxvt and that works
fine and I am now running the 2.1.4 release and things seem happy now.
Thanks
Have you seen this issue using another terminal emulator, or is it just
in xterm? If you don't have another terminal emulator, you can try
unicode-rxvt (urxvt). I get mine through macports, but I know it's in
Gentoo/Alt and fink as well.

Greetings,
Apologies if this is a known issue -- I admit that I'm 2000 messages behind
on this list.
I had previously reverted to the "Tiger" X11 after installing Leopard back
in October. This latest 10.5.2 update, which broke that X11, caused me to
go ahead and try going back to the Leopard 10.5.0 version and then to the
10.5.2 version.
The new version seems much nicer and is something I could live with (yay!)
but I am having one problem that I can't seem to get past. I run a lily
(chat system) client in an xterm-color window and this newer X11 seems to
be causing issues with that. Text randomly jumps ahead while I'm typing.
It's a display issue, though, because if I hit CTRL-L to clear/refresh the
screen the text looks normal.
Any ideas?
I like this X11 and would like to stay with it but this is driving me nuts.
I also tried the 2.13 and 2.1.4-RC1 release for giggles before posting
here.
Reverting back to the "Tiger" X11 "fixes" the issue.
