Unless something went quite wrong with your installation, xterm should
exist. Can you run it as /usr/X11/bin/xterm or as
/usr/X11R6/bin/xterm ? If so (which I expect), the problem lies with
your PATH environment variable: It should contain /usr/X11/bin. Are
you setting PATH yourself, in either ~/.bash_profile or in ~/.bashrc?
What is the result of running echo $PATH ?
