What other X11 versions have you tried? Like X11-tiger?
I don't know 100% that this would solve the problem, but I suspect
doing this would work:
rm -rf /usr/X11 /usr/X11R6
Install X11User.pkg from Leopard's DVD (I think it's in Optional
Installs.mpkg or something similar)
Install X11SDK.pkg from X-Code
Install the update from xquartz.macosforge.org (2.1.1 or 2.1.2 which
should be out soon)

Hi there,
I've been fiddling around a lot recently with various variants of
X11 under Leopard,
with the most inconvenient result, that I cannot compile my beloved
Scribus neither under Fink nor MacPorts...
I have lost track, which versions of X11 I have installed over which
others.
Then I have tried to sweep everything and start from scratch,
however I must have forgotten something somewhere,
as Scribus and depending ports still failed to compile and/or run.
Before, under Tiger, I could compile Scribus using Fink or MacPorts
without any problems ever...
So, I wish, that I could simply start all my X11 from scratch and
install somethings fresh:
For instance: the X11 from the Leopard-CD and X11 2.1.1 from Jeremy.
Right?
But what would I have to clean up before that?
Would some of you experts please point me to the necessary steps?
Cheers,
Thorsten.
