It all seems to work fine apart from a couple of things... :-)
When I launch X11.app (from the dock or from the Finder) I end
up with two X11 icons in the dock (both with the blue light.)
I also see two X11 icons when Cmd-Tabbing. There does seem to be
two instances of X11 running as I am able to quit both instances
separately with Cmd-Q

My .Xdefaults seem to be being ignored now.
