I think your problem with reverting may be related to the fact that
/System/Library/LaunchAgents/org.x.X11.plist is supplied by the
package named com.apple.pkg.Essentials in the original Leopard
distribution, while it is overwritten by the later org.x.X11.pkg.

Reverting to the origial X11 package will not restore this important
file, since it came with the Essentials package.  I suppose you could
dig it out from the install disk somehow, but I am not sure of the
details and lack the time to investigate.  Maybe someone else on the
list can, if the above is not sufficient.
