After about 3 hours, the original xterm and the xephyr/ion window
got wonky again. The keys behaved as though I was holding the ctrl
key down. When I click with the mouse, the context menu pops up
(sort of, it was clipped/cropped such that I could only see the
upper left portion of the menu).
When I type a "d", the xterm terminates. When I type a "c" a
control-c is sent.
Restarting X restores correct functionality.
OK, that didn't take long -- it did it again. But this time I
noticed a correlation: I had moved a window from one space by
clicking on the window title bar and typing ctrl-space# to where X
was.
Further, once I figured that out, I tried pressing ctrl-c to see if
ctrl was behaving backwards (unpressed=on, pressed=off) but it sent
a ctrl-c as normal; however, that seemed to unfreeze the ctrl key
and everything is working correctly again.
Yep, that's the sticky-modifiers bug biting again.
