I don't understand. First, X may well be running whether or not
Terminal is also running. Second, in a sense X is always running under
Leopard: DISPLAY is set, and if any program tries to open an X display
then X11 is started if it isn't already running. The only issue with
starting X11 on demand like this is that some initializations, notably
resource settings, are likely to come too late for the program that
first triggered X11.
