Ok, thanks for the clarification. So it looks like it's working as expected for my terminal (urxvt) ... so there must be something special about gnuplot... hrm =/

Press shift-command-4 (not cmd-4 as incorrectly stated before). Your cursor turns into a cross hair, move over a window an press space, the cursor turns into a camera and the window becomes highlighted, click the mouse, a PNG file of the current window appears on your desktop.
