I get the attached when capturing XTerm under Apple's default X11 in 10.5.3 (2.2.1, xorg-server-1.3.0-apple5). Figured this would be noteworthy for comparison.

Now that is interesting... I did my tests on an intel macbook pro, 1
generation removed from most current, and see the problem all over,
the attached is probably the most interesting though. If you run an
xterm on each machine, and take a screenshot does it work or come out
like the attached?

This seems to be only happening to me when I am using my powerpc- cpu powerbook.

What I did to test this is quite simple. I have a fedora core linux
box somewhere on the LAN and I connect to the linux box and display an
gnuplot window.
<commands>
[xxxxxxx:~] mjhsieh% ssh linuxbox gnuplot
Warning: No xauth data; using fake authentication data for X11 forwarding.
plot sin(x)
</commands>
Then after this window shows up, press key combination command- shift-4
and press space key and move the cursor over to the gnuplot window and
then click the mouse. You will see a gnuplot screenshot with empty
window.

I am using ppc leopard 10.5.3 with XQuartz 2.3.0 (xorg-server
1.4.0-apple14) it also was the same case in 10.5.2 with other older x
server.

However this issue doesn't exist on my 10.5.3 intel-cpu-based iMac,
the screenshot is normal.

Hello,
I'm using Xquartz 2.2.1 and octave 3.01 with gnuplot support. When plotting
a function X11 starts and the function is drawn, however I noticed that if I
grab screenshot of single window (command-4 then spacebar) I got just
window's contours.
I'm attaching an image to this mail to show it, to fully understand open it
with Preview rather than seeing it in Mail.

Is this a Xquartz issue?
