Ah. no. command-v pasting doesn't work. It doesn't do anything, and
it's not quite clear what it should be expected to do. Middle click
sends a middle click. The X server sends the middle click to the
application which then pastes the contents of the X11 "clipboard".
You just want to middle click (not some fancy Logitech mapping of a
key press to command-v)

I have a Logitech mouse configured so that one of the buttons on the

configured the button with the assigned action: keystroke and
configured it with: v key and apple modifier key.
This no longer works on Leopard's X11. I think I assumed that's what
the middle click paste would do, but I guess I was wrong. Is there a
better way to configure a mouse button so that paste works? I know
that I can't use apple+v which is probably why my current
configuration fails.

Middle-click pasting was never broken... are you having problems
with emulated clicks or real clicks?

Hoping someone can help me here. Although I haven't updated any of
Jeremy's patches, I've been trying to keep up with messages on
this alias. I've updated to the latest security update released
yesterday (2008-002).
Jeremy, you mention that X11 should now have somewhere around
2.1.1 and 2.1.2 patches. So from looking at the xquartz page, I
see that the 3rd button copy/paste feature should be there.
However, it's still not working for me. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
