If you *really* want it, there is a somewhat kludgy way that may
work for what you want to do: Write a script using "xwininfo" to
capture the current window positions and "xlsclients" to identify the
current clients. Then write another script that launches these apps
substituting the saved geometry for the "-geometry" arguments to the
command that relaunches the app.
Like I said, you have to really want it. :-)
