Just tried this and an amazing thing happened. Clicking on another Dock
object, Firefox, for example, is ignored. The current space remains
where the selected X app is running (Xterm in my case).
So I pushed ctrl + 1 which should take me to space #1 and nothing.
Pushing ctrl + 2 got me to space #2 and then I could get from there to
#1. Thinking it's a quirk, I tried it again and got the same result.
- From space #1, right click X icon on Dock, choose an instance of Xterm.
- I'm now in space #4 where the selected Xterm is.
- Try clicking Firefox or any other running app on the dock: Nothing
happens with spaces, but the control bar at the top of the screen
indicates the selected app is now active. I just can't see it.
- Try using ctrl + space #: Cannot return to orignal space but can go to
any other space.
- Once any space but the original is visited, normal operation resumes.
And finally, this only happens when I begin in space #1. I tried the
same steps from space #3 and the problem did not appear.
Darn strange, this one.
