Don't know where to find that, but - using the keystrokes I was able to get it out of full-screen mode. Once that was done I was able to get to the X11 preferences and unset that option. Don't know how or why it got there. I've never used it and had no idea it was even functional, let alone what the keystrokes were to undo it. So now that it's not running full screen it's working fine as before. When did full-screen become functional? And just in case it happens again I enabled the Mac option bar when I mouse over the top of the screen.
