Hi everyone,
I'm new to the list, but not new to Aple and X11, however, this is
the first problem I've had with X11 and so I joined up to try and
find a solutions (as I haven't been able to find one on various
searches ont he internet).
A few months ago, I had a hard drive failure. I had the hard drive
replaced and had recovered as much data as possible form the failed
hard drive.
The technicians who worked on my system, instead of just handing me
my data back and letting me re-install the OS and fix everything
myself on the new hard drive, decided to try and reconstruct the
system themselves, including my user profile.
Everything mostly worked, apart form one or two minor issues which i
was able to fix.
Eventualy, I got an external hard drive, and now use Time Machine.
I needed to install Windows via Boot-Camp for a particular program
that is WIndows only, so I used an external hard drive for Time
Machine, backed everything up, reformatted, re-installed, restored
from the Time Machine backup, and installed X11.
I also have the Developer Tools installed.
Unfortunately, now when I try to start X11, it just continually
restarts. In the process list it starts, stops, and restarts with a
new PID.
I have tried uninstalling and re-installing X11, and that did not work.
Any suggestions?
Anestis.
