If you want to have tablet support in gimp, apply this patch to the

compile gtk with '--with-xinput' configure option.
I just tried with macports and the latest inkscape SVN. The tablet
(wacom intuos 3) is indeed detected and I have two input devices:
Quartz pointing device (which seems to be the mouse)
pen
the pressure and tilt tests work but drawing on the canvas gives
unexpected results. The issue is (I think) that coordinates, pressure
etc. are recorded as *negative* values inside Inkscape (in "xinput
test pen" the values are OK). I am now rebuilding gimp2 to check what
happens there and if this is a gtk problem or just an inkscape
problem. Has someone had success with the release version of Inkscape
(in macports for example)?
NB: all this is with rc3. It seems I cannot reach rc5 right now.
server problem?
