256 color mode and ximtool

I can confirm that ximtool is not working with the new X11. I tried it when rc6 became available, and
had the same problem: the brightness and contrast don't change. This worked fine under Tiger.
It has the same problems whether preferences are set to "focus follows mouse" or not.

I did contact Mike Fitzpatrick (the creator of ximtool) when rc6 was released, and his response was that
he is (still) working on a 16-bit version of ximtool and it may be available by the end of the year.

But, it would certain be nice if this could gotten work in the meanwhile.
