Hi Michah,
If you installed from http://xquartz.macosforge.org, those bits
replace the X11 provided by Apple.
If you installed from MacPorts (which is the new name for
darwinports), then those bits are independent and live in /opt/local
Crossover should not use any of the bits in /opt/local ... so I'm
surprised that there would be conflict.
As Ken mentioned, file a bug report with Codeweavers, but I am very
curious about the root cause. Can you please CC me on any bug report
you file with them.
What error messages are you seeing?

Hello all -
I recently installed xquartz through darwinports. The install went
fine, and I was able to use it for what I needed it for, but now I
think I have to uninstall it. I use Codeweavers Crossover to run a
few Windows applications on my Mac, and it appears that since I
installed xquartz, Crossover no longer works. Crossover uses X11 for
its windowing (at leastI assume so because the title bars and cursor
are X11). I have tried reinstalling Crossover, no luck.
So, I guess I have a few options:
- uninstall xquartz (seems the best option)
- somehow, alter Crossover to make it work with xquartz
Also, forgive me if I have used the wrong lingo. I am not exactly a
whiz on this stuff, and I am not exactly sure what the relationship
is between xquartz and X11. I know I installed them separately, and
that's about it. Please correct me if I need correction. :)
Thanks very much for any and all help.
