Hi
Sometimes I need to display an xterm, for example, on my home laptop
from my work machine. For example, from home I ssh into the remote mac
and start an xterm. However this xterm is not forwarded on the local
Xserver, as it appears that the DISPLAY variable is not set
accordingly when connecting to the remote Mac:
[ram@local ~]$ echo $DISPLAY
/tmp/launch-rHPXRo/:0
[ram@local ~]$ ssh -Y remote
Last login: Tue Feb 10 16:50:08 2009 from local
[ram@remote ~]$ echo $DISPLAY
:0.0
[ram@remote ~]$
If I then open an xterm it is displayed on the remote server, not
forwarded over the ssh connection. Is there a way I can get the remote
X11 apps to forward to my local X11?
Cheers
Adam
PS: Both systems are running Mac OS X 10.5.6 and Xquartz 2.3.2.1
