xfontsel crashes

With the new xquartz-2.3.2, whenever I select a system font in xfontsel, it quits with

X Error of failed request: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) Major opcode of failed request: 45 (X_OpenFont) Value in failed request: 0xa00047 Serial number of failed request: 1858 Current serial number in output stream: 1859

The serial numbers change with the selected font, the rest of the message is always the same.

Am I the only one seeing this?
How to debug it?
