MacOS-X 10.5.6
Standard Apple X11 (Xquartz 2.1.5)
All latest Apple updates installed
After adding some custom rgb color name definitions to the rgb color
database text file
/usr/X11/share/X11/rgb.txt
and restarting X11.app, the new color names do not appear to be
available for use by X clients.
E.g. if the following line is appended to /usr/X11/share/X11/rgb.txt
0 50 0 Vdarkgreen
and X11.app is then shut down and restarted, and this new color is then
attempted to be used in a xterm:
xterm -bg Vdarkgreen -fg white
the response is:
Warning: Color name "Vdarkgreen" is not defined
and the xterm launches with a black background color instead of the
intended Vdarkgreen background.
Is a special command needed to be run after modifying
/usr/X11/share/X11/rgb.txt so that the changes will take effect?
Thanks
