Could you fix this simply by editing the org.x.X11.plist
file and changing the preferences there? I just looked
at it, and it has all the options. Were the options in the
version of the file that shipped with Leopard? If not,
could you not just add them or get a newer version of
the file? They all seem to be simple Boolean items.

BTW, this issue had to do with localization settings. The Leopard
SUs don't include the updated X11 preference pane, and when the
checkbox isn't there, it defaults to "off". Unfortunately, this was
not caught before Leopard shipped, and now people have a bunch of
"off" preferences stored, so it's impossible to fix via SU.
If anyone is apprehensive about updating to 2.3.3.2 for whatever
reason, you can just install the localization updates over 2.1.6 to
get the new preference pane.

I just downloaded and installed 2.3.3.2, and once I restarted
X11 and set the proper preferences, everything worked great.
Thanks!

seem to find it. Also, what about a link for FAQ and the like?
In the message headers, there is a line
List-Archive: <http://lists.apple.com/pipermail/x11-users>
which would be nice if the link were correct. Unfortunately, it
has been broken for years. The correct link, which is practically
impossible to find from the information contained in the message
headers or footers, is
<http://lists.apple.com/archives/X11-users>
