You should put something like:
echo "In the X11 start script"
in the X11 startup script to make sure it's executing.
tried that, no luck. blew away my X11 install and reinstalled form
xquartz 2.3.3.2, now it seems to work fine. maybe the problem
stemmed from
having installed over apple's X11? even though in theory that is
supposed to work fine, right?
Yeah, this should completely replace every file installed with Apple's
X11.
