This isn't X11; it's trying to talk to the OSX WindowServer directly
via the Carbon API (as it probably should).
Possibly relevant environment variables are:
Apple_PubSub_Socket_Render=...
DBUS_LAUNCHD_SESSION_BUS_SOCKET=...
SECURITYSESSIONID=...
I have gotten this to work, but only by using AppleScript (via sudo,
as access will otherwise be rejected) to send a "launch" message; then
again I haven't tried very hard. "Back to My Mac" or the built-in VNC
server are a lot easier when remote access to the display is required.
