Hear hear! I actually sent a mail to the xquartz-dev list a few days
ago expressing the same sentiment, but I accidentally sent it from the
wrong account so it got stuck in moderation. I'm pasting it below:
Dear Xquartz developers,
I just wanted to say thank you for doing such a diligent job
supporting X11 on OS X. I remember the dark times a few years back
when it felt like nobody at all cared about this platform. Now,
thanks to Jeremy and Ben before him, we have an up-to-date X server.
Not only that, we have a community infrastructure and folks at Apple
who are extremely responsive to feedback and issue reports. Fantastic
work, guys!
