X11 does not launch

Dear All,

I am having trouble launching X11 from the latest releases.

I have experienced this problem since X11 release 2.3.1 - the last release that when I installed it launched. I did look around on the net, certainly not long enough, but could not find a quick or clear fix to this. I understand other people have seen this problem before.

I would like to install 2.4.0 as some fink programs now seem to require updated X11 library files (I am using Mac OS X (10.5.8) on Intel Core Duo MacBook Pro).

Do I need to install additional files or move files to/from directories?
