I've a white plastic MacBook 2.1 (1 GByte RAM, 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo)
which doesn't have any light detection so it won't be that I presume.
As I said, I'm not sure if it is related to X11 but am waiting for a
repeat of the instance when I'm *not* running X11... will keep people
posted.
