Hmm, interesting. Do you have a file ~/.inputrc lying around?
If so, what's in it? I expect "set horizontal-scroll-mode on" at
least is there, not that I can reproduce the problem if I put that in
my own. But out of curiosity, what happens is you move .inputrc aside?
