It lookslike NX is doing something "off" ...
How do you run NX? Do you launch it from the command line or from a .app? I want you to run 'otool -L /path/to/the/nx/executable', so I can see what libraries its using. My guess is that they are using their own libX11 and patched it themselves to use our launchd socket rather than using the version from X.org which was patched over 2 years ago.
I expect NX should have a fix for this. Is this the latest version? You should contact NX about the problem as well.
