Well, to eliminate the variable, could you please install 2.5.0_rc1 on
your system. You should be able to downgrade successfully by just
running the older installer.

My hunch is that you'll still see the problem. Not much changed
between rc1 and the final release except the handful of issues found
by users on the list (which had nothing to do with OpenGL).
Please file a bug at http://bugreport.apple.com , and let me know the
number, so I can add myself to the CC list.
