Hi,
I'm working on some software that needs to access the X libraries, and
I'm getting very confused by the different versions of X that are
floating around. If someone could enlighten me I'd be grateful.
What I've found so far is that if you use the default X installation
that comes with Snow Leopard, libraries are in the "right" place
(/usr/X11/lib), but if you omit that when installing the OS, and then
later try to get X using the Quartz installer (XQuartz-2.5.0.dmg), the
libraries end up in /opt/X11/lib. Also, the libXp.dylib library is not
included.
So I'm very confused. Is there an installer for Snow Leopard that is
consistent with the OSX default setup? I couldn't find answers in the FAQ.
Thanks for any help,
Mike Travers
