I remember that...

Thank you for reminding me of this, but you have surely understood
that I have done that long ago. I have been using my 1.1.2
installation about since it was released, first under OS X 10.3, then
10.4 and now, hopefully, under 10.6.

I have already patched the launching script so that it starts Apple's
X11 on :1.0 ...

Works: display on Apple-X11/ppc/10.4.11, soffice running either on the
MBP or on the PM
Does not work: display on XQuartz/x86/10.6.4, soffice running either
on the MBP or on the PM

Sure, but this does not appear to be a bug in OOo.

I have been thinking of rebuilding the OS X version of 1.1.2, but
couldn't find it and wouldn't consider it seriously without knowing
how much time that might take...
> Btw, is there a specific reason to stick with 1.1.2?
Yes, I prefer it. It does what I need without getting in my way
MSWord-style, it's been configured to my quirks and I know its quirks,
so what reason do (did) I have to upgrade? I hear way too many
'tirades' by colleagues who install every new version when it comes
out, but one of my main gripes is that there is (almost) no support
whatsoever for existing user-customisation of toolbars, menus, etc.
