Wierd X11 window behavior with Mountain Lion Spaces

  • Subject: Wierd X11 window behavior with Mountain Lion Spaces

When I have more than 2 xterm windows spread over more than 1 space
(virtual desktop) in Mountain Lion, X11 loses track of them.

  Say windows 1 and 2 (W1 and W2) are on Desktop 1 (D1) and W3 on
D2. When clicking in W2, which is below W1 after switching desktops
from D2 to D1, X11 loses track and switches back to W3 in D3 which
was desktop with the previously focused window (W3).

The only way I can catch up in the end is selecting window with
CMD+nr of the window I want.

This behavior has appeared when I was forced to install XQuartz with
Mountain Lion. I have tried the various focus options in the
preferences panel, cleaned up plist files, nothing helps.

The problem becomes acute when I have several xterm windows running
in each of 4 desktop spaces!
