This was taken offline, and I wanted to close the loop on the list.
Carlos canceled his 10.7.3 update before it completed which left his system in an inconsistent state. It seems his particular configuration tripped over a bug that could cause "just a few more minutes" of the "moving items into place" phase to take quite longer than "just a few more minutes"
I'm tracking the root cause internally, but I advise patience (or even extreme patience) if you suspect that your update has stalled out at that point.
If you have canceled the update at that point and rebooted thinking that everything was OK because your system reported that it was 10.7.3, *please* rerun the OS X 10.7.3 (or later) Combo Update (http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1484) and just let it go over night.
