I have an idea, but I'm not sure it applies. It could be the same issue
that one finds with some firewalls of questionable quality - if a TCP
session goes on for too long, it is simply terminated. Could it be that
Apple has made changes to OS X's internal firewall in ML (compared to
your earlier version)? I don't run ML yet, so I cannot compare myself.
Or, did any relevant firewall get replaced/upgraded at the same time?
