X11 automatically quitting on OS 10.7.5

Hello,
X11 and XQuartz keep automatically quitting on me. I am running OS 10.7.5. When I have either X11 or XQuartz running (I've tried both and get the same result no matter which I use) but then I don't do anything using them for awhile, X11 and XQuartz automatically quits. I don't get any error messages saying it quit unexpectedly. It's just as if I were to go to file->quit. I need to stop this from happening because its consequently quitting the program I'm running that needs X11 running to work. Has anyone else had this problem of X11 or XQuartz just automatically quitting after being opened for awhile? I really appreciate any input. Thanks.
