I am still confused by the discussion - what happens when you
1.) ssh -XY from the Macbook to the MacPro,
2.) At the MacPro prompt _you got over ssh_, issue $/usr/X11/bin/xeyes (no display)
If that fails, more work is needed. If it works, X11 tunneling is working, and you can decide if that setup will serve the intended application. I start by issuing the $ssh -XY command that sets up the connection to the remote host. Then on that remote host, I issue the "$/usr/X11/bin/xeyes -display <host>:1.1" command. (Which I thought rode back in the established tunnel.)
