Running XQuartz 2.7.5 on Mac OS X 10.8.5
I have trouble getting the X11 server to respond to a client request.
XQuartz is running with an xterm application where I have set xhost +,
I have checked the box "Allow connections from network clients". In the
System Preferences, Security & Privacy, Firewall, Firewall options, I
have chosen Allow incoming connections for XQuartz (I have even tried
switching off the Firewall).
But the client always gives the message Can't open display
Looking with netstat -an there seems to be nothing listening on
port 6000 (or any adjacent ports either).
What have I missed?
(I am also running XQuartz 2.1.6 on an older Mac OS X 10.5.8, there
it works fine, and netstat -an says
tcp4 0 0 *.6000 *.* LISTEN
tcp6 0 0 *.6000 *.* LISTEN
)
Thanks for any hints...
Per-Arne
