Another option:
If you're not dependig on specific X11 functions on the Mac, I can
warmly recommend http://www.emacsformacosx.com/, a very good Emacs
that is true to its roots. There is also http://aquamacs.org/ which is
also a very good Emacs, but it tries to be more of a Mac application.
