In that case they'd better turn the system off...

I'm with James here (I was "bred" in an academic environment where the
sysadmins kept everything open on purpose because that's how academia should
be). I do concur that we probably wouldn't be in the current situation if more
users needed remote/indirect OpenGL and had made a fuss over it being blocked
(when their sysadmins wouldn't allow the hack).

In practice I guess most users who do need this have sufficient control over
their workstations to enable the feature themselves, once and for all.
