Hi all,
I've been using XQuartz for many years on several different Macs. In the
past my customized window settings have been retained during OS updates.
By this I mean my choice of initial size, text and background colors.
I have just updated my 2010 MacPro from El Camino to High Sierra, and my
settings have been lost. I get the default small black-on-white window.
It is so long since I set up those choices I can't remember how to do it...
They seem to have been saved in ~/.Xresources and are still present, but
no longer being used:
xterm.vt100.saveLines: 1000
! Colors
!.xterm.vt100.background: firebrick4
.xterm.vt100.background: rgb:6f/0/0
.xterm.vt100.foreground: lightyellow1
! Geometry
.xterm.vt100.geometry: 160x48+512+200
I tried copying these settings to ~/.profile and /etc/profile and
~/.bashrc with no success.
Can anyone guide me on how to fix this?
Thanks very much,
Phil.
