XQuartz 2.8.1 not working on Big Sur

Hello! I have the latest macOS Big Sur version 11.5.2 and the latest
XQuartz 2.8.1, however the Allegro IDE is showing me blank rectangles
instead of characters.
Does anyone know how I could fix this issue?
